INTRODUCTION
AnTing New Town, a 4.98 square-kilometer project located approximately 30 kilometers west of the City of Shanghai, is also part of the Shanghai International Automobile City development. A pilot project which was launched in 2002 by the Shanghai municipal government and jointly invested by the local government of the Township of JiaDing was the brainchild of Mr. Fei ChunLu, the then president in charge of the project

Facing many challenges and opportunities in urban planning that takes future into serious consideration; Mr. Fei assembled a team of internationally experienced specialists including architects, landscaped architects, urban designers, transportation planners, environmental planners, civil engineers, regional planners, and scholars in the historic and culture of China.

AnTing New Town is part of the overall development of the Shanghai International Automobile City that contains six distinct zones for various uses. AnTing New Town was launched in July of 2001 and was the pilot project under "Shanghai Municipal's One-City and Nine-Township Development Plan". AnTing New Town breaks away from the tradition because it is under one consolidated master planning, one consolidated development and one consolidated management.

AnTing New Town was the very first development in China of modern European design, and adopted energy conservation system and complete building insulation for ultra energy efficiency. It received the first China's most prestigious national award in "Energy Efficiency and Ingenuity for Green Buildings." Its unique central power and energy supply underground service network system is considered the biggest ever taken in Asia.

Phase One of AnTing New Town has 2.5 sq. km. of land. It can accommodate up to 30,000 people.

Phase Two will take up the remaining 2.4 sq. km. of the land. The development according to actual development phases in the future..
